This course is approved by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and is designed for managers and supervisors from any sector who would like to improve Health and Safety standards within their organisation. The IOSH Managing Safely qualification is the first step for any manager/supervisor required to carry out formal organisational risk assessments.
Who Should Attend?
The IOSH Managing Safely course is aimed at managers and supervisors, this qualification will give them the knowledge and the tools to tackle health and safety issues within their role for any organisation.
On successful completion of this course, delegates will have an understanding of the legal requirements for risk assessment and be able to identify hazards and to implement the practical actions needed to handle health and safety in their roles.
The course will cover relevant issues likely to affect both working and managing safely, including:• Introducing managing safely• Assessing risks• Controlling risks• Understanding your responsibilities• Identifying hazards• Investigating accidents and incidents• Measuring performance• Protecting our environmentThe course will also cover the main provisions of Health and Safety at work incorporating the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations and the Workplace Regulations.
At the conclusion of the course delegates are required to undertake a multi-format assessment, under exam conditions. Delegates must then complete a practical risk assessment project, and return it to the centre within 14 days of the course completion date.
Successful candidates will receive the nationally recognised IOSH Managing Safely Certificate from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
